  3. Access 2.0 Customers:

  5. When installing the Microsoft Ready-to-Run Viewer on a machine that has Access 2.0 already installed, 
  6. users should be aware that the following will occur:
  7.  
  8. ---The Microsoft Access Ready-to-Run environment will now be the 
  9.     default environment for opening *.mdb files.
  10.  
  11. ---If a user clicks on an Access 2.0 *.mdb file in The Windows 95 Explorer
  12.     or File Manager, or any other associated environment, That file will be opened in The Microsoft Access Ready-to-Run Environment.

  14. ---If this Scenario occurs, users may be prompted to convert their databases to The Microsoft Access for Windows 95 format.  
  15.     DO NOT do this.  Once a file is converted to The newer format, it can not be converted back, and this file will NO LONGER work in your Access 2.0 environment.

  17. To correct this issue you may do the following:

  19. ---Reinstalling Access 2.0 after installing the Ready-to-Run Viewer will 
  20.     restore your associations to their previous settings.
  21.  
  22. ---You may also restore those associations manually using File Manager or 
  23.     The Windows 95 Explorer .Searching for 'Associations' in your online 
  24.     help will provide you with Step-by-Step directions on how to achieve this for Windows 95 or Windows NT.
